The Yearend, December 31

Japanese families eat Mochi (rice cake) during the New Year's holidays. Some families make Mochi at home. Kyoko helped her grandma with making Mochi round.

Ah, finished!

We prepare various dishes for New Year's holidays during the last week of December.
It is a Japanese traditional custom to eat Toshikoshi-soba (the buckwheat noodles eaten on New Year's Eve) and a grilled sardin on Omisoka (December 31).
