SAUSAGE TREE - South Africa

The sausage tree has maroon and dark red trumpets shaped flowers. The tree is found on riverbanks. It is one of the first tree to flower in the Kruger Park in the early Spring. Roots are said to give a bright yellow dye. The fruit look like giant sausages.
