There was a hole in the teachers desk if the kids were miss behaving the teacher would have them stick there nose in the hole and the teacher would keep them there for 1 or 2 hours. 2.another punishment would be they would whip or hit them with a thick piece of wood. The boys could be hit with the thick piece of wood or the whip type thing. The girls could only be hit with whip. Getting hit with the whip or the thick piece of wood was legal as long as the teacher didn”Ēt draw any blood or break any bones. 3. If one of the little boys was miss behaving he would go sit with the little girls. If one of the little girls was miss behaving she would have to sit with the little boys. If one of the older boys or older girls was behaving she or he would have to sit with the little kids.A. The teacher would have you memorize a lesson and after you memorized it you would recite the lesson to the teacher. The teacher didn”Ēt really teach you just memorized the lessons out of your books. The teacher was just there to give you discipline and to make sure that you recite the lessons correctly. Once you recite a lesson a lesson correctly you would go on to the next lesson. If you didn”Ēt recite it correctly you would would go back to your seat and remember it correctly. There were no grades in the school. A. You walked to school. Every body lived a couple blocks away.
