Old to New

In 1974 my Mum was in her first year of high school and my dad was in his second year of high school. This is in Wales, UK and a few things are different over there. They call principals, headmasters. In those days they could get the slipper or even the cane. My dad got his first laptop pc when he was in college, even then is was huge. Now we have computers everywhere even in our pockets. Because it is in Wales they have to learn Welsh, English and they had to choose a foreign language like French or German. In the UK they do sports in and after school. My dad loved and loves Rugby (Rugby is like Football), my mum went swimming before and after school, she was very good at it to, my dad has got lots of medals from rugby competitions. They have lots of really cool lessons like woodwork, chemistry, physics and lots more.

When my parents were my age they were in high school, remember this is in the UK so some things are different over there. The high school is in the middle of known where and every one took the bus, not because no one had a car, but because it was so far away from the nearest town. Everyday the whole school would have an assembly; they would sing hymns, read bible stories and have the morning announcements. Then they would have their lessons, here are a few, English Literature, English Language, Welsh Literature, Welsh Language, Mathematics, History and believe me there are more. Then they would have lunch. You know, you have all of those fancy choices of food, snacks and drinks. Well, when my parents were young, they had one choice of food a day. Then they would have the afternoon lessons. Here is a list of all the lessons:English literature,English language, Welsh language, Welsh literature, Mathematics,French,History,Geography,Biology,Chemistry,Physics,Arts and Crafts,Woodwork,Technical Drawing,Sewing,Cooking,P.E.,R.E.,Music
