The Common Cold
Symptoms: Coughing, runny noses, soar thoughts.
Back then:
My Grandpa remembers Vicks VapoRub pretty well. He said it smells really bad and is cold at first, and then it warms up. His brother remembers it very well too. My grandma remembers her mother putting VapoRub in a bucket of hot water; you would stand over it and breath in. She also remembers putting a vaporizer in her room. She also said it can be prevented by taking cod liver oil. She said her mother thought back then that you could prevent it by wearing warm cloths, which has been proven wrong though. My Grandma Snyder remembers drinking chamomile tea with lemon, honey and ONION. My mom remembers taking cough syrup with Codean and Aspirin.
Soar Throats
Symptoms: Your throat becomes inflamed and soar.
