But one thing that hasn’t changed is being sick! 1. What did you use to help bring down a headache? When I had a headache I used aspirin to bring it down. 2. When you were small were there doctors?Yes there were, but we couldn’t afford to go to the doctors when I was little. 3.Was there a nurse or doctor at your school?At my school we didn’t have any nurses or doctors because it was after the war, but we did have vaccination (it was like getting a flue shot.)4. What was your doctor’s name?My Doctor’s name was Dr. Domenico Parracino.5. When you weren’t at the doctor who took care of you?My sister Elvira and my mother took care of me.6. Was sleeping one of your cures for an illness?My mother used to put me to bed when I was sick. She would put mint (the plant) into water and put it on a cloth to open up my sinuses. 7. Did you use medicine (antibiotics)?We didn’t use any antibiotics because she didn’t believe in them so she used herbs instead.8. What caused you to get sick?Sometimes you could get a cold because of the weather changing or there could be a bug going around.9. What childhood illnesses were around when you were small?Some of the illnesses we had were the cold, the flue, measles, mumps and chicken pox.10. What childhood illnesses did you have?I had the flue, measles, mumps and the cold.
