Aim:

Children will become aware that in many countries the Year 2000 is being heralded as a special year and is being marked in noticeable ways.

Children will compare the ways the year is marked in their own country with what happens in other countries.

Method :

Children publish information about what is done in their country to mark the Year 2000 - it might be a special coin that is minted, or a new postage stamp, or a new recipe, or a sculpture.
