Online Page Creator Help

Page Creator HTML Format

Below each section of the HTML Format is explained. Most of these entries are the same as Format 1 and Format 2 (red and purple text below).
Red text indicates compulsory entries.
Purple text indicates optional entries.
Green text indicates what differs from Format 1 and 2.

If you're already familiar with Format 1 and 2, click here to go directly to the green text.

HTML format

  • 1a) Enter the Title for your page. This will show as the link to your page in the Project Room.

  • 1b) Font size for the Title link, would normally leave as is, i.e. medium.

  • 1c) An option allowing you to use a picture file as a link to your page from the Project Room. If you use this option, please make sure the picture is a small thumbnail size (a height of 50 pixels works well). To use this option you will have had to upload the picture (via Online Post) to the Project Room you are working in.

You would normally leave these settings as they are. However if you wish to try something different, please feel free to do so.

  • 2a) This option is the default setting for the "Return" link on your page, back to the Project Room. You can choose the size of the text link, i.e. small, medium or large.

  • 2b) This allows for a picture to be used as the return link. You may have an arrow or some other graphic suitable for a return button that you'd like to use. Make sure you've uploaded the graphic via the Online Post Function first.

  • 2c) This option sets the alignment of the Return text and/or button link. The default setting is centre alignment.

  • 3a) You must enter a name or e-mail address or the Online Page Creator won't create your page. We are aware of safety issues and suggest you use a first name only or pseudonym if you don't wish to be identified by visitors to the site.

The option (pictured above) differs from Format 1 and 2. Here you enter your own HTML for your web page. There are two options:

  • 1) Directly type your HTML into the space provided.

  • 2) Prepare a page in your own Web Editor Programme. Copy the HTML in your Web Editor and paste into the HTML space provided, as shown above. Use your "right click" function and select [Paste]. Your previously prepared HTML will magically appear!

Important: Please remember to include in your HTML the location of your picture, sound and/or video files.

html for picture/sound files

  • "Goodbye - Hello" Directory

Include the location of your picture, sound and/or video files as shown above. The blue writing shows the address where all picture, sound and video files are stored on the "Goodbye - Hello" server. The red entry you make will depend on what project you've uploaded your pictures to e.g
    "p01 * Review of the 20th Century" is p01,
    "c01 * The Street on January 1st 2000" is c01,
"f01 * Dreams for my future" is f01,
    and so on.

  • Picture file names

The green entry should be the name of your picture, sound or video file. Replace small_picture.jpg with your filename.

For example, a New Zealand picture file nz1cat01.jpg

a New Zealand sound file nz1cat.ra

a New Zealand video file nz1cat.ram

create, rewrite buttons

When you've finished click on the [Create] button. You will be shown a preview of your page and asked "Is this page okay?" If it is select [Yes]. If you select [No] you will return to the HTML Format page you have been working on to make your changes.

Be warned, the [Rewrite] button will clear everything you have entered previously. Only use this option if your entries have been entirely the wrong ones.
