KONNICHIWA
What fun we have been having
this week as we introduced the girls to NIKOKERO
the Water Mission!!
I took half the class for an
hour each. We looked at the World Map to locate the
other schools, we looked at the lovely pictures you
sent by post, we practiced saying "Konnichiwa" and
"Arigato" and finally looked at the site on the
internet.
The girls love Nikokero and are
so impressed with your creative talents. They think
that they have received the best Water Mission!!
When the headmistress walked into the class, they
all turned to her and put their hands together and
said "Konnichiwa". It was really very
sweet.
We will now start to brainstorm
ideas of things to do with your questions. The
girls have already signed a promise pledge that
they will try and save water at home. We will
include a copy of this when we finally e-mail
through our work.
Thank you for all your lovely
hard work and ideas

Good Day,
Everyone
It's winter in New Zealand now.
We can see the mountains capped with snow from our
school. They are so beatiful that I want to show
them to you.
We are glad to meet TAIYOU. He
is so cute, isn't he? We have started Water Project
with him. For example, we counted the number of
taps in our school and went to the beach to pick up
heaps of rubbish. Kaikoura where we live has very
beautiful sea. We would like to study about the sea
of Kaikoura as well as water.
Please look forward to our
report!
Cheers,

Dear friends,
We are 4th grade students at
Yanahara-nishi Elementary School, Okayama, Japan.
We are studying about "water and
life" now at school. We are researching the
relationship between water and our everyday life,
and that between water and living things. We would
like to know about water in other countries as
well. We would like to come and see your country,
but we cannot. We send you a Water Mission for us.
Please tell him about water in your
country.
We would like to tell each other
about water and to make friends with you. Let's
study about water together!
Thank you,
