Introduction from
Hendriksholm Skole,
Denmark

Dear LABO students,

Here's our first mail from 2.A at Hendriksholm Skole in Denmark.
We're sending you a photo of ourselves and of our travelling buddy, that we've mailed you by post. Actually we send you two travelling buddies because they always want to be together. Their names are Kaj and Andrea (the black one is Kaj and the white is Andrea). They have been with us since we began school a little more than two years ago. Kaj and Andrea are known by every child in Denmark from a childrens program in TV. In the program Kaj is a frog and Andrea is a parrot - but we think that bears as well can be called Kaj and Andrea.
The other photo is of ourselves in our school yard. It was taken this Friday the last day before the autumn holiday. At the photo we're wearing our track suits. It's because the last day before the autumn holiday traditionally is a sports day at almost every school in Denmark.
In this week we're all having holiday, but we'll write some more about ourselves and our town next time.
We're very much looking forward to hear from you and to work with you. Please let us know how Kaj and Andrea are doing in Japan.

Mange hilsner from 2.A.

Konnichiwa 2.A. students at Hendriksholm Skole,

We are LABO Torigoe Party Junior Group in Okayama, Japan.
We live in and around Tsuyama City. We are in the 1st - 6th grade, but go to 4 different schools. We have a LABO class once a week after school. We learn languages and cultures through acting out stories all over the world, singing songs, and dancing to the music. It is fun.
We are very excited to have travel buddies from Denmark this year! Our travel buddy is Doraemon, a very popular Japanese comic character. He will make his second travel abroad soon. We hope you like Doraemon.
We are waiting for your travel buddies and would like to tell them about ourselves, our town, and Japan. We look forward to hearing from you about how Doraemon is doing in Denmark.

    LABO Torigoe Party Junior Group

    About Doraemon

Doraemon is a very popular character from a Japanese comic "DORAEMON". He is a robot in the shape of a cat, but has no ears because mice nibbled the ears off!! He once was yellow, but as he was so terrible when bitten by mice that he became blue. He kept crying and his voice became hoarse. Since then, he is scared of mice. He is a funny cat, isn't he? However, he is very popular among children in Japan because he helps an ordinary boy named Nobita and realizes his dreams by using various magic tools.
