1. How many schooldays a year do you have?
It depends on the school year, but we have 224 days this year.
We are off on the 2nd and 4th Saturday, but starting from next school year (next April), we will not go to school on every Saturday.
2. How many days areyour Summer vacation?
43 days.
3. How many boys/ girls do you have at your school?
We have 176 boys and 123 girls ( in total 299, 1st grade - 6th grade).
4. How many lessons do Kamo students grade 3rd have a week?
27 lessons.
5. Japan consists of many islands .How many?
We have mainly 4 big islands --- Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu and thousands of small islands.
6. How many square metres ?
About 378000 square kilo meters.
7. We are not quite sure . Please tell us your dangerous animals!
Bears in the mountains, sharks in the sea, poisonous snakes (Mamushi) in the grass, poisonous bees (Suzumebachi) in the bush. We can see beasts in zoos.
8. Is it true that you eat frogs and snakes but not dogs? The students and I are in doubt.
You are right. There are some misunderstandings in our students' answers. We do not eat frogs, snakes, dogs and escargots in everyday life. In the old days though, about 100 years ago, it is probably true that people ate dogs when they did not have much harvest and much food.
