Our Ideal Town Cannelton Elementary School, Indiana, USA

1. Cannelton, Indiana is special because we have good homes for everyone in our town and tere is a nice bridge which connects us to another state,Kentucky. We have good food for the people in our town. We have nice and special schools to learn in. We have lots of historical buildings like the Cotton Mill which is 153 years old and is beautiful. We have good people who care about each other. Cannelton is so special! by Taylor	2. My town is special because in Cannelton we have a beautiful building called the Perry County Courthouse. It is a cool museum now. Once it was the county courthouse. We have many artifacts in it that tell about the history of our town. Some of the artifacts are old photographs of our town and schools. 3. Great Things About Cannelton My town is special for many reasons and one of those is the cotton mill. Long ago it was the largest manufacturing business in this area. It is still going strong. Back then it made cloth out of cotton. Now it is an apartment complex. Another neat thing about Cannelton is our elementary school, Myers Grade School. It is 134 years old as of 2002 and it is still being used. Infact, it is the oldest school still be used as a school in Indiana. Another reason I like our town is another building called the Perry County courthouse. My mom and dad got married there. Now it is not a courthouse but it is a museum for all of Perry County.I love my town,Cannelton! by Tre	4. What Makes My Town Special? (**she made the bridge drawing) What makes my town special is it is Cannelton, Indiana. It is a small town but a nice one to live in. The school is nice too. It is the oldest building (Myers Grade School) still being used for school in Indiana. Many generations have gone there. The town people are nice. You can make a lot of friends here. by Stephanie
5. Why I love my town I love Cannelton because it is special to me. There are many historical buildings in it like the cotton mill which was built in 1849 and it is still being used today. Another historical building in our town is St. Michael's Church. It is old, built in 1850's and it has bells that ring every half hour. We have a flood wall which keeps us safe from flooding of the Ohio River. We have lots of other nice buildings too. I love my town because of all of these things. by Jennifer	6. Cannelton is Special Cannelton, Indiana is special. It is a small town on the Ohio River. It is quiet and you have a lot of friendly people here. We have a bridge hat makes it possible to get to Kentucky. We have lots of pretty hills around us and many trees. It is pretty and friendly and fun. by Rudy

We do not have a lot of crime. We do not have much pollution. We have a lot of interesting buildings. We even have a small school. village9: Why I love Cannelton Cannelton is so special because it is small and we do not have a lot of bad things like pollution or crime. It is not as noisy either. Our town is special because it is historical and it has a lot of old historical buildings that the town people are wanting to take care of. One that we have taken care of just lately is our Cotton Mill. It has been renovated recently and is now an apartment building where many families can live. Everybody knows everyone and that is nice. Our school is small and no one gets lost. That is why I like my town. by Brianna	village 10: Why My Town is Special Cannelton, Indiana is special because of it is on the Ohio River and it is small and old. It has many old buildings like the Cotton Mill and even our school is old. It has nice people and not a lot of noise. We can easily go to Kentucky because we have built a nice bridge called the Lincoln Trail Bridge. I love Cannelton! by Shane
village11: We have a bike-a-thon each year to help raise money for kids who are suffering from Cancer. We want to help save lives. Cannelton is special for that and a lot more.	village12 Cannelton is special for many reasons. One of them is that we have a lot of older historical buildings and we also have newer ones. One of our old buildings that is in good shape and is being used now is our school building called Myers Grade School. It is `134 years old and we use it now like we did back when it was first built. One of our new buildings is our city library. It is much bigger than our old one and it has a lot of nice books.
