NIDO DI CROCCANTE (croccante nest)

 3A and the teacher Ester Dalla Torre Rodari School Udine Italy has created this recipe

 

You need:

cumbled almonds without shells (1kg and half), as much sugar as almonds, oranges

 

 

Put a frying pan with the mixture of sugar and almonds, on a brisk fire.

 

 

Mix frequently and slowly till sugar melts and changes colour and shape : it will become brown and liquid.

 

 

Put this "mush" in some small plastic bowls greesed with oil.

Press on it with an orange: it will take the nest-shape.    But, PAY ATTENTION : DON'T BURN

 

 

When the "Croccante" (almond sweetmeat) will be cold, take it off from the bowls and it's ready to CRUNCH ! !
