Jackson's Grandfather By Jackson My Grandpa has told me many interesting and funny things about himself. He often makes me laugh. I like when Grandpa teases me. Thank you Grandpa for spending time with me. You are very special and I will love you always. This was my Grandpa with his brother, Joe on their first communion. ![]() The saddest experience was when his mother died. He was only 11. His dad got remarried. Joe and Grandpa's dad bought a house for them to live in and a housekeeper to look after them. It was a sad time for grandpa and Joe. Grandpa ran away from his home when he was 14. He joined the Merchant Marines during the war. He wasn't in any combat action. He sailed all over the world and saw how awful war is.Grandpa doesn't enjoy being with lazy, sloppy people. He thinks people should always strive to reach new goals. Grandpa gets great joy out of every day. He enjoys life, people, hard work and just being alive. Grandpa says life is too short to be upset or argue with people. Count your blessings. He says you can CHOOSE to be miserable or happy. It's up to you to decide whether you want to be happy or sad. There isn't really anything that makes him really angry. He says life is too short to be angry. Grandpa says that the one things he would do differently FOR SURE IS GET A GOOD EDUCATION.It is the key to a successful career and life. I really love my Grandpa and he really loves me too. I am very lucky to have such a wonderful Grandpa. |
