Dipper takes a rest in the schoolyard.

This statue of NINOMIYA Sontoku (1787
- 1856) is found in most Japanese
elementary schoolyards. He is reading a
book with firewood on his back.
A symbol of "diligence"!

Farmers had used
"suisha", water
wheels, until
about 50 years
ago.

Carps are swimming in the little pond.
Do you miss Cape Town, Dipper?
