No we do not know about Okayama. Our teacher is going to show

us where it is on a map of the world.

1. Is Cape Town an old town?

Yes, it is quite old. The first buildings were built about 350 years

ago.

 

2. How many people live in Cape Town?

We will find out and let you know. There are about 4 million people

in the Western Cape which is where Cape Town is.

 

3. What play do you do at school?

We play Ingle Angle (Gummie) and we play on the jungle gym.

Often we play "Yellow on Den" which is a catch-catch game. We

play in the wendy house and we swing on the ropes and on the

swings.

 

4. Are your teachers all female?

Yes

 

5. What first names are typical in your country?

These are some English names in our class:-

Sarah, Amy, Jessica, Emma, Michelle, Nicole, Lisa and Caitlin.

At our school we have other names. These are some of the Xhosa

names that girls have:-

Onele, Mafuza, Kazi, Khanyisile, Amandla, Abulele, Nomahlubi

 

6. Do you have natural monuments in your city or your country?

We are not sur what you mean by "natural" monuments. Do you

mean made by nature and we respect them?

Some important National monuments are:

The castle, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Groot Constantia (a n

old house that was built about 300 years ago), the Company

Gardens which were started in 1652.
