As part of our community service
commitment at Punahou, all of the
kindergarten classrooms visit the Ronald
McDonald House throughout the school
year. The Ronald McDonald House offers
room and board for families whose
children are very ill and need medical
care here in Honolulu. They come from the
outer islands and the South Pacific.
Wilcox F started off the visitations with
a Halloween theme. The children made
pumpkins and a poster to decorate the
house. In addition, we donated canned
food. Hopefully the children are learning
that "it is better to serve than to be
served".

We started our journey walking from our
classroom to the Ronald McDonald House.

Malia, our
guide, is
explaining the
purpose of the
Ronald McDonald
House to the
children.Then we
had a tour of
the facilities
and decorated
the house.

children and
parents.

and parents who joined us.

I think we all learned about helping
others not as fortunate as us.
