Letter to 2C, Canada - Peace - Japan
Hi friends of 2C,@
Thanks for your message. We read the message and Jessee's poem.
We saw the photos of you with Peace cranes and war veterans.
Here are our message to you.
* The poem is very appealing!! --- Sota (8th grade)
* I love peace. --- Yuki (8th grade)
* The poem is very nice. I think wars are bad. We should know wars more.
--- Asuka (7th grade)
* It is incredible that a 2nd grade student wrote the poem. It is wonderful
that Canadian children also fold Peace cranes. --- Maiko (6th grade)
* I felt scared to hear the soldier touched "blood"! After listening to the
poem, I became to hate wars much more! However, I was glad and
relieved to know that there are lots of people in the world who hate wars.
I feel sorry for Sadako because an innocent girl was killed in the war.
--- Natsuki (5th grade)
* I was impressed by the phrase,
" Brave soldier, brave soldier,
What do you touch?
I touch blood and injuries all around me."
We have a peace meeting at school on August 6 every year and learn
that Sadako wished she would get well by folding paper cranes
every day. All the students fold peace cranes before 6th graders
go on a school trip to Hiroshima. They offer the cranes to the monument
in the Peace Park in Hiroshima. --- Chie (4th grade)
We wish we will be friends forever and the world is peaceful!!
