German forests - The black forest in Summer

Here you can see a valley in the black forest in 
Southern Germany. The time the photo has been taken was
in Summer. 

A lot of grass hills are in the
black forest are too.
Yuko from Japan and me guessed
why the black forest is called
black forest and we couldnŠň 
find an answer. Maybe we
thought because it is all 
dark inside the forest, but may-
be you have a clue and you can

A big problem in Europe is that
a lot of trees are dieing these
days because of the air-pollution.
Nearly 50 percent of all trees
in Germany are ill, here you see
an ill tree :-(
