Flood on the rhine in May 1999

A lot of rhine floods have happened in the
last year, but from fall 98 to spring 99 we had 
four major floods on the rhine. 
Many weeks it was not possible to make boat trips
on the rhine, because there was to much water
in the river, so we were happy that we were able
to tour on the rhine at all, when we made our
class trip.

When we were near the rhine,
it was not the biggest flood 
we had this year, but the 
rhine was much bigger than
he usually is in May, because
of all the snow that melted
in the Alps.
Our teachers had to look out,
that we wouldnŠň fall into the
water when we made a walk.

This playground near the rhine 
was half flooded, and we were
only allowed to play on the
dry places :-)

Even from the train we could see how big the river
rhine was having his flood.
