Total suneclipse in Germany on Aug 11th

On August 11th 1999 between 12 a.m. and 1 p.m.
there will be in southern parts of Germany a
total eclipse of the sun.

We are all looking forward to
this day, when the moon gets
inbetween the sun and the
earth and it will be all dark
right in the middle of day.
Only for about two minutes but
the next time this will happen
is in they year 2181 :-)
It will be all dark because the
shadow of the moon falls to
earth.

Kids are instructed to wear
special glasses (as you can
see on this photo). If you
would look into the sun without
wearing these special glasses,
the risk would be too high to
become blind forever.

We all hope that we will be able to watch the
sun eclipse and that there will be no clouds :-)
Keep the fingers crossed !
