How The Moon Was Made

Once, two men were fishermen. There also were two boys and two women who were the fishermen's wives. Both the boys helped one of the men catch some fish. Then the man picked up the net and caught the two boys in it.

The man chucked the net in the water and left the boys in the sea. A minute later the other man went past the water and saw the two boys sitting on the shore, fishing. The man asked "What happened to you ?"

The boys said, "The other man threw us into the water."

The man and the two boys went to the wives and said "I found them on the shore. The boys said the other man did it."

The women were shocked. When it was night, the bad man was in his tent, making another net. The women were around the other side of the tent. They were holding onto sticks. The women lit the sticks on fire and burnt the tent, with the man still in it.The man jumped from the burning tent to the top of a tree. He jumped into the sky and stayed there.

He became the moon.
