| One day an echidna was walking around and just then a hawk flew down. |
 | Hawk picked up echidna and dropped him on the spinifex grass. He lay down in pain until the hawk picked him back up and dropped him on the ground and broke his toes. He was covered with spinifex grass spikes. |
 | Then the hawk asked "Where do you
want to be buried?" He said "I want to be buried near two rocks by the spinifex grass." From that day onwards, echidnas have been covered in spikes. |
