Dunbi The Owl

A long time ago there lived some children.

One day they were playing on the plains and one of the children was in a tree.

In the tree he found the very first owl. The owl's name was Dunbi.

The child tossed Dunbi out of the tree and threw him into the air.

They threw spinifex and it stuck to him.

They threw Dunbi into the sky and said "How high can you fly now?"

Dunbi flew up and up.

When the lizard spirit saw what the children had done to Dunbi, he caused havoc. There were big storms and lots of rain which caused floods. People tried to escape but nobody could, except for a man and a woman who grabbed a giant kangaroo's tail and the kangaroo jumped to safety.

These people started a new tribe.

The lizard is summoning the rain clouds.
