Using Thumbnails
Save your larger picture
Resize the larger picture to something much smaller i.e. 150 - 200 pixels wide
Save the smaller picture under a different name
Upload your pictures to the Earth Calendar server via the Online Post Function
Now you will need to include the correct html in your web page.
The basic html code (above) shows the smaller image (IMG SRC tag) links to the larger image (A HREF tag).
Earth Calendar Directory
You need to include the location of your picture files as shown above. The blue writing shows the address where all picture files are stored on the Earth Calendar server. The red entry you make will depend on what month you've uploaded your pictures to e.g April 1999 is 9904apr, May 1999 is 9905may, and so on.
Picture file names
The green entries should be the names of your two images. Replace large_picture.jpg with the name of your larger picture and replace small_picture.jpg with the name of your smaller picture. For example, large picture nz01cat01.jpg small picture nz01cat01s.jpg
Extra Attributes for the Image Source (IMG SRC) Tag
Commonly used attributes include WIDTH, HEIGHT and ALT
The ALIGN attribute will allow text to flow around the picture. If you use ALIGN="LEFT" text will flow to the right and vice versa if you use ALIGN="RIGHT"
